1. What is eBay? eBay is an online auction website. We will place the donated items on the eBay website listing. Everyone who comes across the eBay listing will be able to put up a bid and compete against other bidders to win your item. Bidding ends once the time allotted for the eBay listing has ended (usually 7 days). 2. What is Mission Fish? Mission Fish is a non-profit organization that eBay uses to handle all of its eBay Giving Works transactions. Remnant Publications has a non-profit account with eBay and is hosted on Mission Fish in order to provide more convenient options to our potential donors. eBay lists the non-profit listing and then Mission Fish handles the money transaction; they also provide a tax receipt to you, as a donor (as long as you sign up for free with Mission Fish). 3. What if I have large items to donate (i.e. automobile, large appliances, etc)? Please call Remnant Publications (800) 423-1319 and ask for the rpBay Department if you have a large item, or if you aren’t sure what to do about something you want to donate. We will assist you in any way we can. 4. Are my donations tax deductible? Yes. If you choose to send your donated items to Remnant Publications, we will list those items for you, and then we will send you a tax receipt for the full amount that the item sells for. If you opt to sell it on your own eBay account, simply sign up with Mission Fish to have a tax receipt for your donations available to be printed off at any time. If you choose to sell the item on eBay yourself, but you don’t want to sign up with Mission Fish, we will issue you a tax receipt after we receive your donation. 5. What will happen if the item I donate does not sell on eBay? We will put forth every effort to have your item sell on eBay. According to current policies, we will list the item twice (that’s 14 days of listing time on eBay). Any unsold items will be given to the local community service center; these items cannot be returned. 6. Have a question that we didn’t answer here?
